About Us
We provide high quality, competitively priced pharmaceuticals and hemodialysis products to pharmacies and hospitals across Canada. Operating from both its 65,000 square-foot plant in Calgary, Alberta and its 163,000 square-foot facility in Mississauga, Ontario, we are able to supply products coast-to-coast. Regulated by Health Canada and complying with the Canadian Food and Drug Act, we have both drug and medical device establishment licenses issued by Health Canada.

Paul is an accomplished entrepreneur with a demonstrable record in building companies from the ground up and implementing strategies to scale the organization and grow the business. Paul’s experience spans over 30 years in the pharmaceutical industry in Canada, US and overseas across multiple sectors including veterinary and human pharmaceuticals. He previously held many roles at companies including Western Dialysis, Genpharm and Alberta Veterinary Laboratories.
Throughout his career, Paul has successfully lead organizations through business transformation and turnaround. His network and discipline enable him to engage front-line teams, management, and stakeholders to achieve positive results. After starting Chief Medical Supplies Ltd (CMS) in 2002 in Calgary, Alberta with 4 employees, he has grown the business to approximately 100 staff, created several business entities and expanded locations, including a 63,000 square foot facility in Calgary and a 160,000 square foot facility in Mississauga, Ontario. Paul Tulan holds a Masters’ Degree in Business Administration, a Double Major in Chemistry and Biochemistry, and an Advanced Degree in Graduate Management from the University of Calgary. His Medical Laboratory Technology Certificate was obtained at the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology.
When Paul is not at work, you can find him relaxing or travelling with family and friends, often enjoying a glass of wine. He is an avid golfer who can always be convinced to play a round of golf.

Ramesh has been leading people to reach their potential for over 50 years, starting as a teacher and radio announcer in Guyana, South America and Calgary, Alberta. Ramesh developed very strong communication skills in these roles which has served him well when he migrated in 1974 to Canada to pursue further education and advance his career.
After obtaining degrees in Chemistry and Molecular Biology from York University, Ramesh had a long and successful career with Canadian National Railway Company, where he held many senior management positions. Prior to joining management at CN Railway, Ramesh was the also the local chairman of the union.
Since joining Chief Medical Supplies Ltd in 2005, Ramesh has been instrumental in improving operations, setting employee and company policies, and enhancing the facility accreditation, including overseeing hemodialysis manufacturing and distribution in a GMP environment. Key highlights include:
Ramesh has a passion for reading historical philosophy, gardening and listening to new music genres, especially international. On his days off, you can often find him reading a book in the garden with his favourite beer or cocktail.

Appointed as the Director of Compliance and Regulatory in May 2022, Erin leads Chief Medical’s Regulatory Department. Erin oversees regulatory compliance, ensures adherence to industry standards, manages regulatory risks, and works with stakeholders to implement effective compliance strategies. Erin collaborates with cross-functional teams to address challenges, conducts audits to monitor compliance, and ensures that the organization operates within ethical and legal frameworks, driving continuous improvement in our practices.
Erin joined Chief Medical as a summer university student in 2004 and has progressively moved into various roles within the organization such as sales, project management, Manager of Administration and most recently, she was Assistant General Manager at Chief Medical, responsible for all operations including procurement, customer service and sales.
Erin holds a Bachelor of Arts degree specializing in History and Law in Society from University of Calgary. Erin regularly attends training sessions and webinars to stay current with the latest regulatory updates and best practices, ensuring the department remains aligned with evolving industry standards. She is also an active board member and committed volunteer for various community organizations.
